What makes GitLab special is integration. CI\/CD is built-in. Container registry, security scanning, and deployment pipelines – all included. You can do the entire software lifecycle in one platform.<\/p>\n
The free tier is generous too. Self-hosted option is powerful for enterprises needing control.<\/p>\n
The downside? The UI is more complex than GitHub. Smaller community means fewer open source projects.<\/p>\n
Bitbucket integrates with Atlassian tools – Jira, Confluence, Trello.<\/p>\n
What makes Bitbucket special is Atlassian integration. If your team uses Jira, Bitbucket fits naturally. Pipelines are built in. The free tier includes CI\/CD for small teams.<\/p>\n
The downside? Smaller community than GitHub. Fewer integrations outside Atlassian ecosystem.<\/p>\n
