Railway vs Render vs Fly.io – which PaaS should I use for my Node.js app?

Building my second startup and need to deploy our backend. Previously used Heroku (RIP) and now looking at Railway, Render, and Fly.io. Our tech stack: Node.js + Express, PostgreSQL, Redis for caching. Need something that is easy to scale, has good DX, and not too expensive. What’s the move?

railway is literally so easy. just connect github and it works. no config needed lol.

DevOps guy here. Deploy on all three regularly. Railway: Easiest DX, Great for prototypes, Pricing can get high. Render: Most stable, Good free tier, Slower deployments. Fly.io: Best for global latency, Complex but powerful, Great for edge computing. My recommendation: Start with Railway. Scale to Fly.io when you need global.
