Linux for beginners – Ubuntu or Arch?

Want to learn Linux properly. Started with Ubuntu but people say Arch is better for learning?

Is Arch too hard for total beginner? I know basic terminal stuff but not advanced.

Which one should I start with?

Started with Mint, moved to Ubuntu, finally settled on Arch 2 years later.

My advice: Ubuntu first for 6-12 months. Learn the fundamentals. Then try Arch on a separate machine or VM to learn how things work under the hood.

Skip Arch if you want to learn programming – it becomes a hobby itself.

Ubuntu just works. You install it and focus on learning actual Linux stuff (commands, permissions, networking) instead of fixing system issues.

Once comfortable with Linux basics, try Arch in a VM. The AUR is amazing.
