First time buying a MacBook – Air or Pro for dev work?

Learning to code and saving up for my first MacBook. Torn between Air M3 and MacBook Pro 14.

Will be doing web dev (React, Node), some Python for data stuff. Budget is tight but want something that lasts.

Air cheaper but worried it wont hold up. Pro is expensive AF but maybe worth it?

Have both – Air for travel, Pro for office.

If budget is tight, Air M3 is the best value. It handles VS Code, Docker, Node, React – all fine. The fan-less design is actually quiet.

Get Pro only if you are doing heavy compilation, running VMs, or video work.

Get Air. Seriously.

M3 Air is plenty powerful for web dev. The Pro is overkill unless you do video editing, 3D work, or machine learning.

Saved $1000+ by going Air. Used that money for courses and a good monitor instead.
