Midjourney vs DALL-E 4 vs Stable Diffusion – which for YouTube thumbnails?

0

YouTuber here! Looking to upgrade my thumbnail game with AI images.

Currently using stock photos but they look kinda generic 😢

My priorities:

  • Consistent style for my brand
  • Can generate text properly (thumbnail titles)
  • Not too expensive
  • Easy to use, I’m not a designer

Midjourney seems popular but DALL-E 4 and Stable Diffusion have their fans too?

What’s your experience? 👀

Quick update for 2026:

All three have improved MASSIVELY this year:

Midjourney V7 – Still the king of quality. Style consistency is unmatched.

DALL-E 4 – Text generation is actually GOOD now. Fast and reliable.

SD3 – The new model is insane. Runs locally, no subscription, quality rivals MJ.

My pick for thumbnails in 2026:

  • Budget conscious: DALL-E 4
  • Quality focused: Midjourney
  • Full control: Stable Diffusion

All are viable now. Pick based on your needs! 🔥

Hot take: just use Canva’s AI features lol

They’re not as fancy but for thumbnails? Way faster. And templates are already sized right.

Don’t overcomplicate it 😎

Stable Diffusion represent! 💪

Running SDXL locally on my gaming PC (RTX 4080). Cost me $0 after the GPU purchase.

The quality rivals Midjourney now with the right models. ControlNet is game-changing for thumbnails – I can use my actual face as a reference!

Learning curve is real but once you get it, it’s infinite possibilities.

For beginners: DALL-E. For pros: SD. For everyone else: Midjourney. 👀

DALL-E 4 user here! 👀

I know Midjourney is the cool kid but DALL-E just works out of the box:

No Discord, no complicated prompts, no weird aspect ratio math. Just type what you want and boom.

The text generation is actually decent now – I can put “SUBSCRIBE” on my thumbnails reliably.

Is it as pretty as Midjourney? Maybe not. But it’s faster and easier. For non-designers, this matters.

Just my 2 cents! 🤔

Midjourney for thumbnails period. 🎨

I’m a YouTuber (150K+ subs) and here’s my workflow:

Midjourney – Best image quality, most consistent style. The V6 model is insane. Yes you need to learn prompt engineering but worth it.

DALL-E 4 – Good for generating text IN images (useful for thumbnails!). But style is kinda… generic?

Stable Diffusion – Free and local but requires setup. Great if you want full control.

For thumbnails specifically: Midjourney > DALL-E > SD. 🎯
